Compare two named colors

Compare the same RGB distance used by the game. This is a game similarity score, not a perceptual or accessibility contrast measurement.

Practice naming a hidden color

The actual color-name dictionary

This guide contains every accepted color name in this version. Search by name to compare nearby swatches and hex values. The guide is a practice aid and reveals colors, so open it when you want to study rather than solve unaided.

RGB similarity is a simple practice score

RGB distance treats the three numerical channels equally. It is deterministic and easy to explain, but it is not a perceptually uniform model of human vision. A 90% match does not mean two colors appear 90% identical to everyone.

Use a broad name, then refine

If Blue scores well, compare a lighter or greener blue on your next guess. Keep your best percentage in view and compare new guesses against it. Neutral surroundings help reduce distractions, but screen calibration still affects appearance.
